Sustainable Crediton in collaboration with Crediton Town Council presented a screening of the film of the National Emergency Briefing project at Crediton Methodist Church. An audience of 80 people attended and contributed to the informative and thoughtful discussion, which was led by experts, Laurie Laybourn ( Executive Director of the Strategic Climate Risks Initiative and fellow at Chatham House, the University of Exeter and advisor to the UK Climate Change Committee). Jane Quicke ( Quicke’s Cheese, local farmer and landowner) and Jo Hamilton (University of Exeter, Lecturer and Researcher in Human Geography).
The National Emergency Briefing is a rapidly-growing UK public information initiative working to ensure that both Parliament and the public are clearly and honestly briefed on the climate and nature crisis. To find out more, including where you can see the film go to:

Local screenings coming up include Broadclyst, Chagford, Bovey Tracey and Exmouth. Plus – The Boniface Centre in Crediton will show it in September, exact date tbc.
Everyone is urged to support the campaign and write to your MP to demand the Government to stage a televised emergency briefing on the climate crisis.
