We are a growing network of people in Crediton and the wider local area. We aim to bring people of all ages, skills, backgrounds and interests together to work for a positive future.

Our focus is to help our community become truly self-supporting and resilient in the face of the current challenges of the financial crisis, climate change, energy shortages and food insecurity.

Join us and help us to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, campaign for eco-friendly transport, promote and consume local produce, support local business and the local economy, encourage organic gardening and low input farming, plant and protect hedgerows and trees, and ensure Crediton remains a place we are all proud to live in.

Community Energy Project

Sustainable Crediton's Community Energy Project is at the 'feasibility' stage. A large grant has enabled us to engage Devon Association for Renewable Energy [DARE] to carry out a big study. This will look at the possibilities for generating energy on a profitable community scale through solar PV, wind, or anaerobic digestion. The aim is to set up a community owned, not for private profit business which will bring benefits to people in the Crediton area. DARE is finding out about the technological side, the business case and the potential for community support. We would like to know people's views on the three technologies and on the project in general. For more information and to register your views email energy@sustainablecrediton.org.uk or complete our survey.
