We need a new Treasurer!

Hello everyone, yes, we are still looking for a new Treasurer. This is an essential and interesting role at the heart of the management of Sustainable Crediton.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play an important part in helping our charity continue to grow and thrive. As Treasurer, you'll be a valued member of our friendly management group, helping to keep our finances in good shape while supporting the many projects and events that make Sustainable Crediton such a vibrant community organisation.

The role is voluntary and typically takes around 1–2 hours a week, with most tasks carried out online. It’s a flexible role and can fit around work, family or other commitments. You'll also join our monthly management meetings when you can, where we work together to plan and oversee our activities.

The Treasurer's responsibilities include:

preparing regular financial reports and the annual accounts
preparing the annual budget (with support)
assisting with grant applications
managing expenses, reimbursements and petty cash.
You don't need to have been a Treasurer before. If you're organised, comfortable with numbers, reliable and willing to learn, we'd be delighted to hear from you. Better still, you'll be fully supported by two of our former Treasurers, who are happy to provide training and mentoring as you settle into the role.

Sustainable Crediton is a dynamic and growing charity working to promote sustainable living for the benefit of our community and the environment. We support a wide range of projects and events, including the Food Larder, Repair Café, Pollinator Plots, tree planting, woodland management, farm visits, film events, the Seed Share, the Big Green Fair and the Clothes Swop.

Our vision is a thriving, resilient Crediton, where people work together to create a healthier environment and a more sustainable future for everyone.

If you've ever thought about getting more involved, this is a wonderful way to make a real difference while becoming part of a welcoming and supportive team.

If you'd like to find out more, or simply have an informal chat about what's involved, please get in touch with Andrew Davey or Rob Hines by emailing .

A full role description is available on request.

We'd be delighted to hear from you!

Lesley Thomas and Andrew Davey, on behalf of Sustainable Crediton
