Visit to Quicke’s Farm, Newton St Cyres

Visit to Quicke’s Farm 23rd May 10-12noon.

Jane Quicke has generously offered to give a tour of the farm to explore the intersection of farming, food production and the environment.

The visit will last two hours and will involve walking up hills and over rough ground. 

It will include looking at trials of mixed species swards and aerating and subsoiling to combat compaction.

There will  be an opportunity to discuss environmental features such as field corners and margins, beetle banks, wood kept in place and find out about current research and programmes including the Global Farm Metric, work with Bristol University and a pesticide use trial. Sustainable Crediton are delighted to invite members of the public to join the tour.
