We create and care for mini-woodlands, stands of broad-leaved trees and new hedges in and around Crediton – because we love trees, want to improve our local environment, and of course hope that they will help the climate, improve carbon sequestration, and encourage bio-diversity.
What We Do
We meet up for half a dozen tree-planting or tree-care sessions (half-days) during the winter months. Friendly occasions with coffee breaks! We plant new young trees and hedging, or replace seedlings that haven’t made it, we weed, mulch and protect. We’ve planted on public parkland with generous support from Mid Devon District Council, and trees provided by the Woodland Trust and Devon County Council. We’ve also planted in partnership with farmers committed to organic / regenerative methods. We’d love to plant more but it’s a real challenge is finding new plots of land to use.

Why It Matters
In total, we’ve planted about 12,000 seedlings since 2021, quite an achievement! Our current plantations within the town are at Lord’s Meadow, Beacon Park, Greenway and Southfield Woodland. We also run a small tree nursery at Elston Farm on land kindly provided by farmer Andy Gray. We’ve had help in maintaining this from Morgan Sindall Engineering.
