The Bookery is delighted to welcome David Shukman for a timely and urgent evening marking the publication of his latest book, The Response: A Story of Fire and Flood in Britain’s New World of Extremes. One of the UK’s most trusted voices on climate change, Shukman will be joined by Laurie Laybourn, a leading figure in climate risk, policy and resilience.
Drawing on decades spent reporting from the frontlines of environmental change, The Response is a gripping and deeply human account of how Britain has moved onto the frontline of the climate emergency.
David Shukman was the BBC’s first Science Editor and led its coverage of climate change and the environment for nearly twenty years.
