We have three events coming up
before the end of the month.
Firstly, we have the eagerly
awaited talk "Fracking
- Golden Goose or Dead Duck" taking place at the Boniface
Centre on March 26th from 7:15pm for 7:30pm start as part of Sustainable
Crediton's AGM. Fracking is touted as a way to reduce energy
prices, hailed as a transition fuel on the way to low-carbon
renewables, and welcomed as an energy revolution in the US. But,
Simon Tytherleigh of Sustainable Bradninch will ask is this too
good to be true? Could it be a danger to the environment, and keep
us hooked on fossil fuels and failing to invest in future
technologies? Simon's presentation takes a hard look at all sides
of the argument, and considers fracking in the wider context of our
future energy needs. The AGM will follow the talk and refreshments.
The AGM will be a good chance to catch up with new developments at
Sustainable Crediton.
On the 29th March from 10am to
12:30pm we have another waste plastics
collection at Peck & Strong, Lords Meadow Industrial Estate
- close to the Leisure Centre and next door but one to Eakers. Any
CLEAN food, drink and household plastic containers will be
accepted.
Finally, If you fancy a bit of easy
cycling, then the third of our regular Boniface Trail rides is taking place on Sunday
30th March leaving the Town Square at 11am and bound for
Salmonhutch and The Lamb at Sandford.
Hope to see you at the events.
