We have an exciting new project. The WEN allotment we looked
after a few years ago held some very popular open days - where
people enjoyed doing a bit of digging, sowing seeds, and cooking up
a bit of soup. We have another opportunity for people to dig and
get their hands dirty! WEN have been invited by Coombe House to
work with them on restoring their walled garden and bringing it
back into productivity. Coombe House is a 16-bed step-down facility
for female patients providing treatment and rehabilitation for
adult female patients with enduring mental health issues and/or
personality disorders. We will be working with staff and patients
on Wednesday mornings in the walled garden. Women and men are
welcome, but sorry, no children are allowed.
Coombe House (EX17 5BY) is near Coleford. From Crediton, turn
off the A377 towards the Recycling Centre but stay on the Coleford
road and about half a mile after the turn off for the Recycling
Centre you will see a mirrow on the right hand side and a driveway
on the left hand side, signed Coombe House.
Wednesday mornings from 9.30am to 12noon. Please contact me if
you are interested in joining us - we may be able to liftshare. No
gardening tools required.
