Calling all those who love to knit, crochet, sew,
embroider, weave , spin and all other textile crafters. On
Saturday October 26th, from 1-4 at The St. Boniface Centre
Sustainable Crediton and Significant Seams will host the first
Crediton Eco-Crafternoon.
At the heart of this will be bring and take tables so we can
declutter and offer to others all those bits of wool and fabric we
have hanging around. Maybe you have a half finished project you
know you'll never complete that someone else might enjoy. If you
have any tools, needles, crochet hooks, embroidery hoops,
haberdashery etc you don't want you can pass them on. Significant
Seams will have a stall with loads of patterns and books and your
contributions to this would be most welcome. We just ask those who
take to reuse to offer a donation. Reuse is always more sustainable
than recycling.
As well there will be workshops and stalls around the themes of
sustainable textile crafting including tote bag making. There will
be a space to just bring your work and sit with others, maybe give
or get advice and share ideas.
The Repair Cafe will decamp from the Elephant
on the Green and be joining us hopefully with someone who can
sharpen scissors.
Of course there will also be coffee, teas and cake to sustain
us.
If you have anything you want to donate to the bring and take
you can also drop it off at the Sustainabubble on the Square on
Saturday October 19th from 10-1.
If you want volunteer to help on the day during the event or to
set-up, or take down, that would be wonderful. Donations of cakes
are also welcome. Contact us at info@sustainablecrediton.org.uk
So put October 26th in your diary. We can have a great
Crafternoon enjoying our crafts, making new friends and contacts,
maybe being inspired to try something new and learning how to make
our crafting more sustainable.
