THANK YOU to all those who came along to support and and take
part in the Eco Crafternoon on 26 October!
Before I got home, Significant Seams had received this lovely
feedback:
'Thank you so much for today.. it was sensational
and very uplifting.. the people, the mending, the music, the food,
the fabric.. I was in heaven! Can't wait for next
year!!!'
From feedback across the participating groups, we know over £600
was raised for various good projects. We also have heard about some
good new contacts between projects and volunteers. We hope this is
the case!
Our working group welcomes you to join us for a next steps event
on Sunday 10 Nov at 10:30 at the Barn at Carpenters Cottage if you
are interested. We have amassed all the remaining stuff here. The
plan for the morning is evolving whilst we process things a bit in
the background - but the aim is to sort the stuff and make some
decisions about it. We have a growing list of groups, projects and
places things could be donated to - as well as the idea that we
might put together sell-able kits to raise funds for local good
things if we can cobble together a viable approach to that.
(Significant Seams online
shop doesn't get a lot of traffic, but we'd love to change
that.)
Additionally, Significant Seams and Turning Tides begin a Warm
Spaces project with a difference this coming week: Art-coustics is
a weekly session of art-y activities in support of making new soft
decorations to improve the acoustics for the Tea Rooms, and
includes a free hot soup lunch. We particularly welcome the craft
and textile minded. Mondays 1-3pm at the Train Station Tea Rooms
plus some Tuesdays at The Bookery. You can tell us you plan to
come, and see the details of the cookery sessions on our Eventbrite page. Joining could be a
great time to talk further about other ideas and how we might
develop other lovely things for our community.
Again, thank you for the role you played, and others you
brought with you, and please pass on the news from this to anyone I
may have missed or you think may be interested.
