1) Matters
arising from last meeting
Jill and
Esther to attend meeting with Recycling Officer and Liz
Hocking on 24th Nov.
Tiverton
Repair Cafe - Jill reported that this takes place once a month in
the Pannier market. Jill has been provided with statistics for
repairs done. It may be possible to do something similar with
Refurnish in the future.
Action -
leave this till next meeting to see if this can become a
project.
Reuse
Project - Jill to attend meeting at end of Nov. Emma has some
funding to be used for a project and Jill to ask about using it for
a repair cafe. Jill also to find out about Exeter's clothes
swap.
Meeting
with Jason Pratt, MDDC about Crediton Food Festival - leave til
next year.
2) Recycle
Devon Thank You Awards
Details
received of the Recycle Devon
Awards.
Action -
Paula will nominate Esther. May need the groups input.
3) Clothes
Bank/Paperchain
Action -
Anne to email Colin Matthews saying we will keep him in mind for
future projects.
4) Give
and Take Feedback
Average of
200 people per day, donations £147.85
Lessons
learnt:
Communication
between us and Refurnish could have been better.
Shift
leaders - would have been better if their role had been defined at
the outset.
Pluses and
minuses of using Refurnish - would need to take these into account
if premises used again.
Publicity
- at next event evaluate publicity options.
Decision
made to do another give and take event in either Oct 2016 or Feb
2017, must include a half term holiday. Would need a further £400
which could be raised from grants or by funding from local
businesses.
Meeting
felt that we would not use Refurnish premises again as they are not
suitable.
Action -
April 2016 start looking for premises. Esther to approach High
St businessses for funding early 2016 and to
organise a meeting with Kate at Refurnish for a debrief.
Action -
Paula to write a press release after meeting with Refurnish. At
some stage write to Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall
and ask him to
open the next event.
Action -
Jill to circulate Tiverton's Give and Take advertising leaflet as a
possible future template.
5)
Crediton Climate Challenge, Nov 28th

and Paula have kindly agreed to make the Xmas tree decorations at
the event and Esther and Paula will decorate the Sustainable
Crediton tree at the Xmas tree festival on 2 Dec. Carolyn to
