The Boniface Trail
Group are launching Crediton's own cycling guide this month.
The leaflet aims to put Crediton firmly on the cycling map for both
visitors and locals alike. Kath Porter, a key member of the group,
explains:
"Crediton is a
great place to cycle - the surrounding villages are perfect
destinations for a ride. Until now children completing
Bikeability at local schools have been given a
cycling map of Exeter. Now we'll all have our very own
guide of the area."
The guide is free and will be found at Crediton Community
Bookshop, Lords Meadow Leisure Centre, the Bike
Shed and local cafes. Inside the leaflet you'll
find a street map with cycle-friendly routes and four
recommended cycle routes exploring the local countryside. We'll be
publishing more routes over the coming months so watch this space!
The leaflet is a key milestone for the group who are campaigning
for a cycle path from Crediton to Exeter to make the route safer:
"We want commuters, students and families to be able to cycle the
journey safely."
Aspiration maps have attracted attention at Community
Market and QE Academy with dates ahead for Leisure Centre,
Landscore and Hayward's. This is consultation, to identify the
best route from Crediton to Exeter. So, whether you are a
commuter or a leisure cyclist, or wish you were, please
make your mark and comment.
