An astonishing turn out. Despite the rain and wind we had
50 cycling down Crediton High Street to the Town Square.
One young cyclist told me she is 6. Another even
younger, on a pink bicycle, was accompanied by her dad running
along beside her.
74 was probably the oldest, coming over the hill from
West Sandford to join us.
Front markers kept the speed slow, walking stewards gave out
leaflets and CCA members greeted us as the square came to
life with bikes buzzing
around. Kate Bailey kindly agreed to record the
event with her photography skill, and the Crediton Courier and
Crediton Gazette were also there.
37 came on to Leisure Centre Overspill carpark,
and 13 arrived very sodden but pleased at the Beer Engine,
Newton St Cyres.
Thank you to all. There was most definitely determination to be
there, to use a form of transport whose time has
come.
Questions from those who took part:- When will there be
another? And how many more might have come if it had been
sunny?
Kate Bailey took Photos on the day. They are excellent. They
record Saturday's event gathering at QE, down the High Street
and at the Square.
If you want to order a CD, cost £2, please see Kate at her
stall, next to mine, at Crediton Farmers' Market.
