Transition Exeter in partnership with Alternatiba Exeter present a talk by Ian Bateman

Are you worried about the apparent lack of urgency in tackling global warming?

Do you know who is with us and who is against us?

Preparations for the latest UN climate change conference (COP21) in Paris this December are well under way. Will there be a deal to prevent the most damaging impacts of climate change?

On Thursday 24th September Ian Bateman will give a talk about the background to the conference in Paris in December and the prospects for a deal.

Local speakers will outline some of the campaigning and projects taking place in Exeter over the autumn to promote a low carbon city and a positive UK approach to reducing and adapting to climate change, including the Alternatiba Festival on November 21st demonstrating low carbon alternatives, and the local Divestment Campaign from fossil fuels.

Ian Bateman, former Climate Change Officer at Devon County Council, is in a good position to put things into perspective. He has offered to give us a overview of the climate change story, from the early days up to this year's multi-national conference in Paris (December 2015) and beyond.

"I've heard his presentation before and I think it's one of the best of it's kind."

Come and find out what chance the world has of putting up a fight!
