Steve Densham at Mid Devon District Council has been in touch to
tell us that the council wants to do some tree planting in the area
over the coming winter. This will be planting whips, i.e. small
twiggy trees around 2' tall, very easy to pop into the ground.

The Woodland Trust is offering generous subsidies for large
scale (over 100m) hedge planting.

The Woodland Trust is offering schools and communities packs of
free trees for planting
next winter / spring.
These packs vary in size from 30 saplings for hedging, to 420
tree whips. If you want some, go to the web site and have a look.
