A good turn out of 8 people today. After the previous work party
was washed out, this was a beautiful sunny warm day. We continued
to coppice along the bank with Eddy and John D on chainsaws,

Woodland and Hedgerow Group meets twice a month from October
through to March at Moor Farm near Morchard Bishop. We are
currently coppicing a beautiful native wood in lovely surroundings.
At the end of the season, any wood we have collected is shared

The past six months has seen the Woodland and Hedgerow Group
working at Moor Farm near Morchard Bishop. We have been coppicing a
piece of previously coppiced native woodland which had become
overgrown with both hazel and undergrowth. Over the last 6 months

Six of us attended the final session of the season and worked
with handtools laying the hedge at the field boundary and coppicing
stools not in the hedge line. We finished at 2 pm and went to the 3
Little Pigs to celebrate the end of a successful season.

Six of us attended on a fabulous day where the sun shone all day
and temperatures reached the mid teens. A perfect day for coppicing
and hedge laying. As last time we split into two groups, one doing
coppicing and the other doing hedge laying.

underfoot, but once off the track conditions in the wood were fine.

two groups and continued to clear undergrowth and coppice the hazel
in the area to the left of the main track near the entrance to the
