Review of Woodland and Hedgerow Winter Work Party 4 to
Tucking Mill Farm, Zeal Monochorum, EX17 6DF
Brash Covering Stools For Deer Protection Coppiced and uncoppiced areas can be seen Site manager one log stash another log stash a rack of brash admiring our work tidy racks
At this work party five of us worked from 10am to about 3:30pm
in the light drizzle. Eddy worked with the chain saw and coppiced
hazel stools. The rest of us worked on smaller timber with hand
tools. Any brash was tidied into racks which will form a wildlife
habitat as it decomposes. The cut down stool stumps were covered in
brash to prevent deer browsing any new growth in the spring.
