We are currently negotiating with BT about offering them a couple of trees for their site in Belle Parade, as MDDC were not interested in requiring the new flats adjacent to this to have any green planting.

As we have been campaigning for some time to have some kind of green planting in the High St.  John Downes, who is also keen for this to happen, is trying to persuade MDDC to consider doing something about this.

We have applied to the Woodland Trust for hedgerow plants to continue planting on the Heartland Way, which was started by WEN.

We note that Lancaster University have today announced the value of greening towns and cities and will be updating our leaflet accordingly.
