'Ash dieback' fungus spreads to the countryside

Chalara fraxinea has been found in ash growing in woodlands in 2 sites in East Anglia. The government has announced a ban on the import of ash trees from Monday 29th October.  More information can be found on our Threats to British trees page or on the BBC website).
