Sustainable Crediton volunteers have been busy seeding the wild
flower area at Newcombes Meadow, near the bandstand. We have
enjoyed being out working in the spring sunshine, if somewhat
challenged by the extremely dry conditions. Much watering is taking
place in the hopes of securing a decent germination rate, and a
colourful, pollinator-friendly summer.
We are looking into delineating the area so it is clear what is
going on. In the meantime, we would ask people to avoid the area so
the seeds have the best chance of giving a good show later in the
year.
Big thanks to all concerned and especially to Simon O'Sullivan
for supplying the seed and his expertise, and to the bowls club,
town council and kind neighbours for water supplies.
