Thank you to everyone who came along to the Seed Share, Share
Grow, Eat, on 16 March. It was our busiest yet, with a steady
stream of visitors across the day, and around £600 taken for lunch
made from waste food and as donations. More importantly, there was
a fantastic atmosphere, lots of seeds and plants changing hands,
and great conversations about all things sustainable taking place.
The year saw a number of new stallholders attend, including
Shillingford Organics Farm School, and Vital Seeds. Many thanks to
all volunteers and stallholders for your efforts, and especially of
course to the Woodmen who provided the perfect musical
accompaniment.
There was some talk of holding a parallel autumn 'produce share'
event. If you think this is a good idea, and would like to share
some thoughts about how it might work, please come along to the
next meeting of the Food Group on 9th April, 7.30 in the General
Sir Redvers Buller. We won't be able to run an event like that
without support from others. Similarly, if you have feedback about
the seed share, or ideas about how it might become even better next
year, please do let us know!
