If you are a keen gardener, vegetable grower or enthusiastic
about environmental issues then why not join CAG Devon on Saturday 18th March for a free
training event and become a Compost Doctor!
As a Compost Doctor you would attend community events and
enthuse and inspire local people in Mid Devon to compost at home as
part of the Community Action Groups Devon project (CAG Devon). This
new scheme aims to support local people to reduce the amount of
household waste in Tiverton and Mid Devon.
The training event will take place at Greenham Reach, near
Holcombe Rogus, a stunning location and the home of three
pioneering local growing projects. It will be led by expert
composter and author Nicky Scott.
The day will be enjoyable, interactive and really hands on,
giving people the knowledge and confidence to promote home
composting in their communities. No previous experience is
required, just enthusiasm and a commitment to spreading the
word.
As well as taking part in the training, the new Compost
Champions will have a chance to take a tour of the Greenham Reach
site, receive a resource pack full of ideas and activities to take
back to their communities, and enjoy a delicious lunch from locally
grown produce.
CAG Devon is managed by Resource Futures and supported by Devon
County Council and Mid Devon District Council.
