Review of Joint jam and chutney making to
Crediton
On Monday 4th November, Food Group stalwarts gathered at El's
home in Stockleigh English to make Jam and Chutney. A bit of
forward planning for recipes, ingredients and equipment meant that
we were well prepared with lots of apples, quinces, sugar, spices
and jars. We set about peeling, chopping and boiling, there were 6
of us so this part was quite quick and easy. Then we broke for
lunch, El had kindly made a delicious Pumpkin Soup. After lunch we
bottled up the Quince Marmalade and Lemony Quince Jam, as well as a
fantastic Spicy Apple Chutney. We hope to sell the Jam and Chutney
at the next Seed Share on 22 February.
