After a busy year, taking part in 11 successful events, we're
having a rest over Christmas.
Our next
meeting, to plan for 2012, will be a day time one on the 12 Jan
[though we're already booked for 5 Community Markets in the summer
and a couple of catering sessions] We try to alternate day and
evening meetings to accommodate everyone.

Our annual Seed
Swap was a great event for Sustainable Crediton!
It took place at the new venue of the Town Hall which was
very successful. There was a large and varied selection of
seeds brought and at the end of the day almost all of them

Once again the Town Square was bright with about twenty stalls
and multicoloured gazebos for our fourth community market of the
year. New stalls this time were Clairwen with lots of garlic, Gill
with honey and wool from local jacobs sheep, knitting from the
group which meets on Friday mornings ... 15th October 2011
Our October Seasonal Supperwas very much
enjoyed by all - fantastic three course meal for just £7.50 thanks
to our organisers and cooks Carol, Ruth and Sue. We are
considering altering the format for next year though - plans
in the next newsletter.

Our 3rd Community Market
Despite the dreadful weather forecast 21 stallholders braved the
weather which fortunately turned out to be better than the
forecast.
Local gardeners and smallholders brought a diverse range of food
to the market including eggs, fruit, vegetables, cheese,

HogCO(Home Grown - Community Owned), of which
the Sustainable Crediton Food Group is a member, is hosting a
free open day at Embercombe, near Exeter.
It is open to all Sustainable Crediton members. It is an

Riverside is a working smallholding where the delicious
Riverside Goats Cheese is made.
Thirty people enjoyed the August Seasonal Supper on a fine evening.

We felt that our first Community Market was a success with a
good variety of stalls all around the Town Square and a steady
stream of shoppers.
The accent this time was on plants, but there were plenty
of other goods including crafts, cheese, eggs, herbal preparations,
cakes and even a very ... 2nd May 2011
Although this has been fairly low key for the past few months
enquiries are still being received from various sources,
including the website. A total of 18 garden owners have shown
interest in the scheme covering a wide area in and around
Crediton. There has been some recent interest from
possible gardeners and it is hoped that a few more gardens can
be "matched" in the near future.
Not all plots have been suitable for the gardenshare scheme -
they have been better suited to the Landshare
scheme, which is nationwide. There are a number of entries in
the Crediton area.
