The wild flower garden is a riot of colour this month. We
now have a sneaking suspicion that a packet of North American wild
flowers were mixed with our native ones! One cannot deny that
cosmos and one or two others are definitely not British wild
flowers. Despite that, the array of beauty is undeniable and the
garderner is filled with joy every morning he visits the wild
flower patch! The sunflowers which have all flourished as
well, alongside the border against the veg patch, were gleaned from
the bird table. Apparently, the choosy birds ate all the
other seeds and left this particular sunflower seed alone. It
will be interesting to see if they eat them directly from the
growing plant - watch this space.....
