Silvo-pasture research project at Elston Farm

Earlier this year, many SusCred members acting in a personal capacity took part in a major tree planting project at Elston Farm, Copplestone. Some 6000 trees were planted. I'm really pleased to tell you that the indications are that the trees did not fare too badly in the difficult April weather which followed.

The landowner, Andy Gray, is participating in a research project on the benefits of silvo-pasture, organised by the Innovative Farmers group.

Andy has sent us this really interesting podcast which explains the project in some detail. It's well worth a listen.

I am also delighted to tell you that Andy has agreed to be our guest speaker at our delayed AGM and re-launch on 2nd of October: of which more to follow.
