A fun project based learning session that can contribute to the national qualification 'Arts Award.'

In this session we will focus on mask making - using clay to make forms and reclaimed materials to shape original masks. Particiipants in this workshop will have the optional invitation to do the 'share a skill' component of their Bronze Arts Award during our 'Empowering Creativity' programme in August, sharing their learned mask making skills with other young people.

In addition to art, there are drama, history and creative writing aspects that will be explored.

This hands-on workshop is perfect for home educating families looking for inspiring activities to fuel project based learning. Let your curiousity loose in a supportive and inclusive environment.

This series of workshops is designed with the requirements of the Bronze and Silver Arts Award in mind. Participation can also contribute towards the skills requirement of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

Bronze Arts Award is a qualification on the National Framework, moderated by Trinity College London. The Award encourages project based learning and creative ways of demonstrating progress. The award is assessed against each participant's progress and learning rather than achieving specific knowledge points. A candidate will need to evidence progress around four areas of learning. These are framed as:

• Learning a skill

• Learning about an artist and their practice and inspiration

• Being an audience member

• Sharing a skill

The cost of this event is specifically for one participant in this workshop. Significant Seams is an Arts Award Centre and can advise and assess a candidate's submission for the award. Optional add-ons for this workshop include a Bronze Award workbook and a package of arts award advising meetings. Assessment is booked seperately when a candidate is ready to submit.
