Our Next Wildlife Warden Induction Training session: 'What's A
Wildlife Warden?' is on
Monday 6th March via Zoom Book here.
In terms of projects that Wildlife Wardens have been doing,
they include the following:
- Wildflower meadow creation
- Tree planting
- Soil testing
- Water testing
- Hedgelaying workshops
- Rewilding
- Habitat management on parish land
- Rewilding churchyards
- Ancient Woodland surveying
- Fungi forays
- Swift watching
- Bioblitzes
This is by no means an exhaustive list. We run a variety of
talks and training sessions each month and will be joining up with
some of the visits that Mid Devon Wildlife does too as the season
progresses.
If you would like to do more for nature and wildlife in your
parish, and could do with some extra support, please do get in
touch and book on to the next 'What's A Wildlife Warden' session -
this will give you plenty of background information and the
introductory training you need to be a Wildlife Warden.
Junior Wildlife Warden Scheme
We are also looking to roll out the Junior Wildlife Warden
Scheme to young people across Devon. If you know of any young
people, groups or schools that might like to join our wildlife
detectives club with activities, meet ups and leaderboards then do
get in touch with us too!
