Review of Sustainable Crediton's Big Green Fair in the Square to
Crediton Town Square
Green Fair in the Square
What a great event we had on Saturday 23rd
Sept! The weather was kind and there were so many stalls of
interest.
There were too many stalls to mention all but take a look at the
photos for a flavour of who came.
The Community Larder was there providing yummy soup and cakes
and giving away locally picked apples. (See separate article
on the Larder). There was music from the Arts Centre and new
and secondhand bikes as well as Babes on Bikes. Did you see
the Mossy Carpet? It will grow and grow and will be displayed at
the Theatre Royal Plymouth in November and Exeter Cathedral in
April. For the first time the Makers Boutique came and showed
off their locally made clothes with sustainable fabric and bags and
wallets made from old fire hoses and bike tyres. The Town
Council came, the Friends of the River Exe and the Climate Action
Group showing the churchyard projects on creatures big and small
and rewilding.
The Green Trail invited you to visit further afield including
the Community Allotment and the new Crediton
Repair Café at the Methodist Church. This is planning to be a
monthly offer - they'd love more repairers so get in touch if you'd
like to be involved.
There was honey for sale from Artemis Bees - Imogen is a
small-scale bee farmer. Anne Stobart displayed her new book
(see separate article) and there was good advice on
hedgehogs. If you see one out in the day it's probably not
well. Contact https://www.britishhedgehogs.org.uk/
for information and contact details of local
rescuer.
Donations of yarn for the mossy carpet gratefully received -
