Do come along to our Big Green Fair in the Square, on 23
September, 11am to 2pm. Now in its third year, it promises to be
the best yet: a really interesting and enjoyable event, with
live music, and food provided by the larder group (soup with bread
and yummy cake)
There will be lots to see and do and talk about. Stalls in the
square will include energy advice from ecoe (Exeter Community
Electricity), FORE (Friends of the River Exe) focussing on water
quality, taster cycle-trailer rides for parents with young
children, the 'Mossy carpets' craft activity, hedgehog houses, bug
hotels, bee & hornet info (with honey on sale), Devon Wildlife
Trust, a display by the Bike Shed, Crediton Garden Club,
climate information from the COP26 group…
Information about Sustainable Crediton projects and groups will
be available in the Hub at the Town Council Offices, 8 North
Street,(on the square). An opportunity to sign up for the Community
Allotment, the Wood Group, the Larder, or our new 'Patchwork
Crediton' Project'? Also a chance to help us choose the best name
for the Hub ( Community Hub, Green Hub, Eco Hub??) - come and
vote!
The exciting relaunch of the Repair Café also takes place on
Green Fair day, from 10am to 12.30pm at the Methodist Church. It
will be the first destination on our planned 'TRAIL'. (Maps will be
available at the Hub before and during the Fair)
Reminder list of things you may want to bring to the fair:
- Contributions of cake or soup for the food stall (please
liaise with the larder team in advance if possible)
- surplus produce for the Larder team's 'Help Yourself'
table
- plants for the Garden Club stall
- pieces of fabric for our #Patchwork project
- items to be repaired in the Repair café
- comfy footwear if you'd like to walk up to the Allotment (also
on the 'Trail')
- cash as most stalls will not have card reader.
Further offers of help setting up and taking down
would be much appreciated, as would offers of gazebos for use
on the day. Setting up takes place from 9am and taking
down will be from 2pm.
NB: a final word: If high windspeeds are predicted the Green
Fair will still go ahead but on a reduced scale as we will not be
able to erect gazebos. If the weather forecast appears at all
doubtful, please watch the Sustainable Crediton Facebook page for
an announcement from around 4pm on 22/9.
