Me neither, until now.
We have lost 95% of our hedgehog population since the 1950s. One
reason being habitat fragmentation. Here is a petition which you
can sign in support of the provision of hedgehog highways in new
new housing developments.

The Butterfly Conservation
organisation is asking for volunteers to record butterfly sightings
in gardens etc. If you've had enough of weeding and grass cutting,
kick back and have a go at this, in the knowledge that you are
still doing something useful!
