Are there any readers of this newsletter who would be interested
in helping Sustainable Crediton respond to very occasional planning
applications?
John Boyle, John Downes and Charles Mossman had a very good
meeting with Simon Trafford from Mid Devon Planning Department last
month.
In short we came away from the meeting with Simon suggesting
that Sustainable Crediton becomes an official consultee on major
developments (10 homes and above) including major renewable energy
schemes and commercial developments in the Crediton & District
area at the pre-application and application stage of the planning
process.
However, there will now be an expectation from MDDC that we
actually submit our views on these planning matters in a
professional manner. We have the opportunity to have some
significant influence on the green agenda within planning
applications.
We do need some additional people who are experienced and
interested in planning matters to help when we are consulted. We
will also need to have thoughts on solar farms, large anaerobic
digestion plants as well as the wind turbine debate we have been
having.
If you would like to become involved, please contact Charles for
a chat.
