What is Permaculture?

Permaculture is about creating sustainable human habitats by following nature's patterns. Another way of describing it is a design system to place elements in relation to each other in order to maximise their efficiency in creating a self-sustaining, low input / high output, whole. Whatever definition you prefer (and there are many more!) Permaculture is for everyone wishing to live sustainably and tread more lightly on the Earth.

The course tutor

The course will be lead by Aranya, who is a tutor and lecturer in Permaculture. He has been interested in the subject since the late 1980's. He also designs gardens to permaculture principles, designs eco-websites and records music.

Course location

Cider Barn, at Middle Coombe Farm, Uplowman, near Sampford Peverell. Middle Coombe is set in a sheltered valley and is run on environmental principles.

Course fee

The course is modestly priced at £75 for non-residents, which includes lunch on Saturday and Sunday.
