Review of Launch of Devon CAN (Climate Action Network) to
Embercombe, Teign Valley
Devon Climate Action Network is a brand new organization of
which CCA is now a part.
61 activists representing 26 transition and climate
action groups from across Devon attended the launch of Devon
CAN at Embercombe Sustainable Community in the Teign Valley.
It was very successful event and all agreed that a Network
would benefit the groups and the cause in general. A
steering group including Gerald Conyngham CCA's Chair was
formed to take the group forward and this is due to meet on
24th March.
The Network is in its very embryonic stages at the moment. It
plans to have details of all the Devon climate
action/sustainable living and transition movements on their website site, as well as such things as a
diary of events across Devon, details of expert speakers,
skill and knowledge sharing (eg how to set up a local food
plan) and a resource bank. DCAN hopes to be able to offer a
more comprehensive website in the near future but please use and
add to the Ning website meanwhile. By listing yourself as an
individual on the site it will include you in the DCAN
database and keep you up to date with the group's activities.
