We all no doubt remember earlier in the summer when oil
prices rose day on day and the price increase pain was felt at
the petrol pump. Brent Crude has now come down from $140+
per barrel to $60 + per barrel and the prices have crawled
down at fuel stations however the summer crisis gave us
an insight into a future in which energy demand exceeds easy,
cheap energy supply.
'Energy
Crossroads' looks deeply and objectively at our use of and
dependence on energy. It traces the history of
our society since the Industrial Revolution and makes
very clear that without cheap energy - primarily petroleum -
the industrialised society in which we live could never
have existed.
But these issues are the business of governments and major
corporations right? Not necessarily.
'Energy
Crossroads' does not simply dwell on how we got here and
the potentially grim future that awaits us. Importantly it
offers concrete solutions for all of us and provides an
insight into how we can be part of the solutions right
now.
