The Department of Education is now asking all schools to develop
a Climate Action Plan. It has now been established that schools are
responsible for 25% of public sector emissions in the UK, and of
course, are moulding the minds and practices of the next
generation. A national project, supported by the Met Office in the
SW, is inviting individuals to receive free training to become a Climate Ambassador. The scheme will then help
match volunteers with schools to help them with their Climate
Action Plan. The volunteering commitment is 1 day per year.

Lets Go Zero is an affiliated project offering schools 1:1
advice and support on helping develop their Climate Action Plan,
including calculating their carbon footprint, building the climate
action plan, applying for funding to enable aspects of the plan,
accessing support of Climate Ambassadors, and learning from other
