I am convening a working group which is looking at how best to
pursue alternative economic models across Devon. We are lucky to
have on it Stewart Wallis ex Director of the New
Economics foundation, who is now living in North
Devon.
We are running a short seminar which you might be interested in,
for details see below.
Devon New Economy Seminar - What would a New Economic System
look like and how to make it happen?
This will be an interactive seminar led by Stewart Wallis,
previously Director of the New Economics Foundation. Issues to be
explored will include:
- Why we need a new Economic System.
- How economic system change has happened before and key
lessons.
- Goals, Values and Principles for the New Economy.
- How might it operate?
- How to make it happen?
- Our role in Devon?
This seminar is one outcome of the New Economy workshop held
in Exeter Community Centre on Sat 16th April this year, and the
starting point for trying to create a new economy in Devon.
The venue is the Great Hall at the Old Deanery, beside Exeter
Cathedral, EX1 1HS.
Coffee and tea will be available from 10am, for a prompt 10.30am
start. Please bring your own packed lunch (drinks will be
provided).
We also request that you read the 2 documents: Principles
for a new economy & What Unites us? Building a
Common Agenda before the seminar, so that we all have the
same insights into this topic.
