8th May 7.30pm AGM
The Arts Centre, East St, Crediton EX17
3AX
Come and join us at the Arts Centre for an interesting evening
hearing about Sustainable Crediton's many projects this year and
the exciting plans for the future as we move forward with
charitable status. We have a guest speaker and refreshments
are available.
Guest Speaker: Dr Paul Cleave from the University of Exeter
has a long term interest in food and social history with a special
focus on Devon and its food story. He works with the Centre for
Rural Policy Research at the University of Exeter.
Drawing on the work of Dorothy Hartley, and Mrs Cruwys Sharland,
Paul would like to share some of his research which has looked at
lessons in sustainability from the past which we might use today -
from households where nothing was wasted and seasonal foraging
added supplies to the larder, to the lessons we might learn from
the experience of wartime and adversity.
