On the back of the jolliness and productivity that was
the first Creativity Acre work party, Significant
Seams invites you to another.
This event promises to be (based on feedback from the first
event) a curious and lovely mix of mindfulness, nature, exercise
totally modulated to one's own desired level, socialising,
and … cake.
Significant Seams is exploring ideas for using a special acre of
land in a conservation zone, for special work: for positive
wellbeing, creativity, and ecology outcomes. Any of the
possibilities need to start with some practical hard graft -
to increase the dappled sunlight, to make it safe to explore, to
find its purpose through engagement 'with' it.
11 May is Compost Awareness Day - and boy do we have
compost!
From 10am-3pm (coming and going as you please, and with a
planned break for a sociable hot lunch) we plan to work at the
Western and Northern edge of the Acre. Like last time, there is a
lot of deadwood to be cleared, and trees to be pruned, paths to
re-find. There are also hops to tend to.
Finally, of the day's particular relevance: there are six
extremely large compost heaps to move along - with probably 2 heaps
(guessing about 6 dumpy bags worth) ready to be used. Want some?
You'd be welcome to take what you like away with you! (Firewood
too!)
This is an at your own risk, voluntary event. In addition to the
work in the woods, we welcome offers of help with the catering.
We'll be opening up the Apple Studio this time for socialising and
cooking. We are asking for people to please book - or directly RSVP
to me, and I'll book you - so we can plan for safety and catering.
