On 6th November an enthusiastic little team cleared, weeded and
mulched the young seedlings in our Beacon Heath plantation (top of
George Hill). We also planted a fine young donated oak seedling
(pictured).
It felt very worthwhile, even though some of the work involved
rectifying unnecessary human damage (uprooted stakes, bags of dog
poo stuffed down tree protectors).
We'll carry on with optimism, doing one or two more days of tree
care (at Beacon and at other sites) in January/February.
We'd love to have more volunteers! Not as glamorous as new
planting, but just as important.
