Lines, a chorus, and a bridge coming together at Crediton Inn
with Sustainable Crediton as part of Climate Action Week.
With thanks to performance poets Ian Beech and Tim King and
local activists chaired by Sarah Green.
Sarah Green writes
"Absolutely brilliant! I enjoyed this so much! After our
brainstorming session Ian and Tim spent just half an hour tweaking
our lines and then Ian actually *sang* our song! I was gob-smacked!
It rhymed and flowed and although Tim and Ian are going to
spend some time perfecting the
verses and chorus it was truly amazing how much creativity came
together into a coherent production in such a short time. My thanks
to all who came along - especially Ian and Tim for channelling us
so well!"

As part of Climate Action Week this year we are
asking you not just to 'speak out', but to SING
OUT!
Ian Beech, Crediton's own local poet will be leading a creative
song writing session entitled "For the Love of…"
The event will be held in the skittles room of the Crediton Inn
and is open to anyone all those who would like to celebrate what we
have done or will do to protect our environment in mid-Devon.
While all singers and musicians are welcome, no musical
knowledge is required and you are invited to just come along and
work with Ian to write a song which incorporates ideas, images,
scenes, stories that show our love for the environment. The aim is
to compose collectively a song which can be performed at different
community events during the course of the year, including the Cred
Fest 2017.
Whether you are a rhapsodist or a rapper, into arias
or acid-house, ballads or leider, then yours skills and ideas are
needed! Please join us!
Please remember to buy a drink since the Crediton Inn have
kindly allowed us to use their room free of charge.
