Review of Climate Change Lobby of Parliament. No response from Mel Stride.Westminster
11 constituents from Central Devon including 5 members of
Sustainable Crediton went to Westminster to join a big lobby of
Parliament, organised by the Climate Change Coalition. The
aim was to lobby MPs to take more action to deal with climate
change, such as pressing for bigger investments in renewable
energy and reducing tax breaks/subsidies for fossil fuel
industrries. And to aim for a strong and binding agreement at
the conference in Paris in December. Over 300 MPs came out to meet
their constituents but sadly Mel Stride was not one of them despite
knowing in advance and on the day that we were there. At the
time of wriring there has still been no response.
