Hello people of Devon and the wider world!
On Sunday, September 21, we have an amazing opportunity to
demonstrate to world leaders that we want to face the challenge of
our changing climate, and embrace and celebrate clean and renewable
energies. On this day, a few days before a major UN climate summit,
Avaaz members around the world will be part of the March Citizens
against Climate Change. Lets show the world that we are a strong
and unified global community, we want the people in power to hear
our voices and listen to our needs and concerns. The UN is going to
hear our voices!
We propose that we do this by organising some community
activities on the 21st September.
Our plan; To construct a green heart (emblem of the days action)
made of pieces of green paper on which our community has written,
drawn and created on. It could be a concern, a positive drawing,
something you worry about, an idea, absolutely anything. Materials
will be provided, come along and create and contribute to this day
of global solidarity. We will be crafting and drawing inside the
Guildhall with tea and cake, and then making a time-lapse video of
everyone contributing their piece, which will be shared at the UN
summit in New York on the 23rd of September. Our community will
have an influence on what World-leaders and Policy-Makers choose to
do about climate change. Lets share our voice with the World! We
want to get as many people involved as possible! THERE WILL BE TEA
AND CAKE!! CAKE!!! We welcome anyone and everyone, if you feel like
you want to contribute to the organisation of the event in some and
volunteer we could definitely use your help. If you have any ideas
or queries then give me an email or a call/text and we can speak.
Please please please come and share with us this sense of global
community and solidarity. With positivity, love and a great sense
of hope Jack
