Boyle

The notes from last year's AGM were agreed as a true record.
2012 Annual Report
Credit Union - John Skrine
Energy - Charles Mossman
Food - Linda Lever
Transport - Laura Conyngham
Waste - written report sent by Paula Mossman and read out
WEN [Women's Environmental Nework] - Kate Povey
Tree - brief report by Gerald, although he's not a member of
that group
Agreed that the list of activities by all these groups was very
impressive!
We noted the absence of an education group at present.
Report from Chair [to be included in summary]
Gerald outlined all the other events that had gone on during the
year and activities such as setting up the new website and
newsletter system - a very valuable asset for which Sarah and
Charles were thanked.
It was agreed that this again was an impressive list and that we
need to get out the message generally about all the things we
do.
There were questions about the involvement of and support for
the farming community [which we would like to work on] and the
matter of waste reduction which we hope will be addressed in the
forthcoming EU consultation and legislation.
Treasurer's report
Anne presented the audited accounts and a break-down of income and
expenditure for individual events. There was a small excess of
income over expenditure for the year and a healthy balance. Anne
pointed out that much of the income had come from the PV project
and this will not be available during 2013. There was a query on
the expenses for the Clothes Swap which had been high due to cost
of advertising and hire of venue. Anne was thanked for all her work
as treasurer.
Kate Povey proposed and Dee Ross seconded that the accounts be
accepted. This was agreed unanimously. We also agreed thanks to
Peter Moffett for auditing the accounts and hope that he will do
this again next year.
Election of Core Group and Officers
Gerald announced that he was standing down as Chair, but was
still happy to be on the Core Group. He was thanked for his 5 years
as our 'front person'.
The following people were proposed for the Core Group by Dee
Ross:
John Skrine [Chair], Charles Mossman [Vice-chair], Anne Tucker
[Treasurer], Sarah Green, Kate Povey, Gerald Conyngham, Dominic
Noble, Linda Lever [note taker]
This was seconded by Chris Tucker and Laura Conyngham and
agreed.
We hoped that John Downes would continue to represent the Town
Council on the group.
There was some discussion of the role of the Core Group and its
composition and of the need to improve our communications.
The meeting was followed by a short TED film illustrating how
important it is for the richer nations drastically to reduce carbon
emissions.
