Sustainable Crediton newsletter issue 155 May 2024

Welcome to our May newsletter, arriving in your in-box on or around the festival of Beltane, marking the beginning of summer: yes, really...

This month's highlights:

Our AGM on 8 May: please come along, we'd love to see you.

Elston Farm Open Day, 19 May. Members of Sustainable Crediton along with friends and fellow travellers planted some 5,000 trees here, three years ago. This promises to be an inspiring event showcasing a form of landuse which works to the advantage of both nature and livestock, whilst addressing the need to sequester carbon. Another world is possible!

Also on offer is the chance to pump up those tyres, oil your chain and get back on your bike, or to help others to get cycling.

We hope you continue to enjoy being a part of the Sustainable Crediton family, in all its many and varied guises.

Best wishes,

John Craythorne and Lesley Thomas, joint newsletter editors

Boniface Trail promotion event?

For the benefit of those who may not know, there is a long standing proposal to create a dedicated shared use trail from Crediton to Exeter, known as the Boniface Trail. Community Allotment closing

We are closing the Crediton Community Allotment. It's been an interesting, often rewarding but also hard time running the Community Allotment since we took it over from Westbank in 2021. Ultimately it seems there just aren't many people who wish to be part of a community allotment here in Crediton ...
