Sustainable Crediton Newsletter Issue 114
Hello Everybody.
Apologies for the lack of news over the past month. The pandemic
seemed to rob me of anything coherent to say, though I'm conscious
that there is plenty which needs saying.
One of the narratives used to describe our predicament is that
'we are all in it together'. Sadly, that doesn't seem to be the
case. Those with secure lives and good health may be enjoying a
slowing down and more time to reflect. Others are working as never
before to keep their lives and livelihoods on track. Still others
will be enduring the loneliness of self isolation in order to stay
safe. There may be a challenge ahead about how we can stay united
in the pursuit of a more sustainable future; whether it be in our
response to climate change, the threat of ecological collapse, or
working towards a sustainable economy.
This video has
recently come my way and encapsulates how I'm currently feeling. I
hope it chimes with you too.
Best wishes,
John Craythorne, on behalf of Sustainable Crediton

“"What is opportunity, and when does it knock?" It never knocks. You can wait a whole lifetime, listening, hoping, and you will hear no knocking. None at all. You are opportunity, and you must knock on the door leading to your destiny. You prepare yourself to recognize opportunity, to pursue and seize opportunity as you develop the strength of your personality, and build a self-image with which you are able to live, with your self-respect alive and growing.”
Maxwell Maltz (US plastic surgeon, motivational author, and creator of Psycho-Cybernetics)
