I want to mention four events coming up over the next two
weeks.
Big Community Energy Weekend 17th and 18th May
Four local homes of Sustainable Crediton supporters ( 26 Old
Tiverton Road, Crediton; Redlands, George Hill, Crediton; 13 Old
Rectory Gardens, Morchard Bishop; and Beech Hill Community,
Morchard Bishop ) with very "green" credentials will be opening
their doors over the weekend of the 17th and 18th May as part of
Exeter Community Energy's Big Community Energy Weekend. Visit the website
or pick up a booklet from the Green House in Town Square to find
addresses, maps and opening times.
Cooks' Books
Do join the Community Book Shop to hear Tim Harris, a
Sustainable Crediton supporter who is passionate about food, speak
about an eclectic range of food writers, with extracts from their
writing, video and audio recordings, and his thinking about their
influence on how we eat today. Tim, who runs The Devon Chef, a
business providing private chef services and cookery classes, has
met a range of cookery writers, and writes regular reviews of
cookery and food books himself.
This event, in partnership with Crediton Arts Centre, takes
place at the Arts Centre in East Street on Thursday 22 May at 8.00
p.m. Wine, soft drinks and a selection of cookery books will be on
sale. Tickets are £7.50 and available at the Bookshop and the Arts
Centre.
Get some Exercise
Then on the Thursday 29th May cycle
with us on our next ride leaving 7pm from the Town Square for
Thorverton Arms.
Recycle Plastic
And finally on the Saturday 31st May we have our regular
two-monthly Plastics
Collection at Peck and Strong, Lords Meadow Industrial Estate
from 10am to 12:30pm.
